As you may have noticed, our landscape contractor (Landscape Concepts Management) recently installed various plant materials to replace some of our dead, damaged and/or diseased plants.
They also re-seeded certain areas of the turf near streets and driveways where there appeared to be significant damage due to pets, disease, snow removal activity, de-icing chemicals, etc. As you might imagine, the cost to replace plant material and re-seed areas of the turf comes at significant expense to our homeowner’s association. Please help protect this investment by regularly watering any of the replacement plant material and re-seeded turf areas that are in proximity to your townhome! Thanks for your help and cooperation! At the annual meeting on January 25th, a quorum was achieved and three homeowners were elected to serve terms on the HOA Board of Directors. Alex Kogan will be serving as President, Leonard Kreimer as Vice-President and Tom OBrien as Treasurer/Secretary.
Please join us in expressing appreciation and gratitude to outgoing board members Kristina Robinson-O'Brien, Valentin Kvaterman and Lynda Griffin for all of their hard work and service to the Sarah's Glen community! As you know, the terms for the Sarah’s Glen Board of Directors are expiring and the current individuals serving on the board are not running for re-election. Some of these individuals have served on the board for multiple, extended terms and have done far more than their fair share in serving the Sarah’s Glen community.
As such, we are in need of homeowners willing to volunteer to run/serve on the Sarah’s Glen Homeowners Association Board of Directors. In case you are not familiar, the board of directors is comprised of three Sarah’s Glen homeowners elected to serve terms in three different positions. These are the President, Vice-President and a Treasurer/Secretary. Functionally, the Board of Directors is responsible for making decisions about the maintenance and repair of elements deemed the responsibility of the homeowners association in the Sarah’s Glen Covenants, Conditions & Restrictions (CC&Rs). The board also has the responsibility and authority to enforce the Sarah’s Glen Rules and Regulations. Utilizing these documents (and other appropriate resources), the Board of Directors adopts an annual operating budget, insures adequate reserve funding, plans for both short term and long term maintenance/repair projects and adopts new rules/regulations should they become necessary. The Board of Directors utilizes the services of a contracted property management company (currently W.L. Seymour Inc.) who is responsible for overseeing the day to day concerns of the Sarah’s Glen Homeowners Association. The Board of Directors carries a fiduciary duty on behalf of the Sarah’s Glen Homeowners Association and is obligated to follow all applicable laws and regulations that govern Illinois townhome associations. Only one individual in a joint ownership residence can serve on the Sarah’s Glen Board of Directors at one time. Other than being willing to volunteer your time/energy and serve on the board in good faith, there are very few other restrictions that would prevent a Sarah’s Glen homeowner from being able to serve on the board of directors. There is a wealth of information available online to help familiarize prospective board members with Illinois association law, proper board procedure and operating best practices. The value of our homes and the desire to preserve Sarah’s Glen as an upscale townhome community is very important to all Sarah’s Glen homeowners! We live in a small association and we desperately need new individuals who are willing to invest their experience, time and energy in voluntarily serving the homeowners association.
