Is fishing permitted from the banks of the pond?
Yes, limited "catch and release" fishing from the banks of the pond is permitted under Sarah's Glen Rules and Regulations. A valid Illinois fishing license is required and all fish must be returned to the pond alive, immediately after catching. Are there other activities permitted on/in the pond? No. Activities such as swimming, wading, bathing, ice-skating, sledding and walking on/in the pond represent a serious liability risk and are therefore prohibited by Sarah's Glen rules and regulations. Additionally, usage of radio controlled toys/vehicles is prohibited on/in the pond. Is the pond treated with chemicals? Yes, the pond is periodically treated with chemicals to control algae growth. As such, contact with the water should be avoided. Parents: Please remind your children not to throw anything into the pond and to not disturb, touch or attempt to catch any wildlife that live in (or near) the pond. Additionally, please keep all children away from all electrical, sprinkler and aerator control boxes near the pond. |
