Security Camera Policy (Homeowner owned/placed)
Security Camera Policy (Homeowner owned/placed)
With the exception of front door/doorbell cameras, if an individual homeowner is interested in installing exterior security cameras on or around their unit, the association requires that the homeowner submit a Landscape & Architectural Improvement/Change Application to the management company. Homeowners will be required to place/install the devices so they are mounted in as unobtrusive an area as possible and do not substantially change or affect the look/feel of the exterior building structure. Such devices should be installed so they are focused on the homeowner's unit only — never directed at windows of adjacent units, structures, neighboring or common property. Homeowners are responsible for ensuring that approved exterior mounted cameras/mounts do not affect the overall look/feel and lighting appearance of the exterior building structure. Responsibility for any damage to the building resulting from the camera's installation or ongoing presence (now or in the future) is fully the homeowner's responsibility. Additionally, if the HOA determines that any exterior building component, trim or masonry needs to be painted, repaired or replaced, neither the the HOA nor its contractors will be responsible for any resulting damage to any camera/wiring/etc, nor for deinstalling or reinstalling a camera during such work. Homeowners should be sure any such devices that are approved and installed on the exterior of a home are installed by a qualified contractor in a manner that is consistent with any federal, state and local laws and ordinances. This policy may be amended from time to time as needed. |
