Brief History of Sarah's Glen
Sarah's Glen was originally conceived by Century Development Group on 12 1/2 acres of property along Indian Creek, formerly known as Hunter Hill Stables.
The property was originally part of unincorporated Half Day, before being forcibly annexed by both Vernon Hills and Lincolnshire during the winter of 1993-94. A lengthy legal battle then ensued over control of the area. In October of 1995, a Lake County judge eventually ruled in favor of Vernon Hills, ending the annexation dispute.
Original concepts for the development were presented to the Vernon Hills Village board in February of 1997. The Village approved the Final Planned Unit Development (PUD) for the 63 unit townhome project in May of 1999. The development was named after the daughter of then Century Development President Irwin Berkley.
